Build boldly. We'll handle the fine print.
You didn't start a business to decode contracts and chase invoices. We did. Nineteenth Street gives creatives, startups and SMEs expert legal and business support — warm, jargon-free, and at fixed fees agreed before we start.
Free 30-minute session · No obligation · Fixed-fee proposal afterwards
Just two things — and both done properly.
Legal support
Contracts drafted, reviewed and negotiated. Ongoing legal support on retainer. Money owed to you, recovered. Everything a growing business needs to be legally sound — explained in language you can actually use.
Business strategy
Startup and early-stage planning that turns your ambition into a working strategy: what to do, in what order, by when. We set the goals with you, then build the plan that gets you there.
Pick what you need. Or combine them.
Contracts
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements before you sign — client contracts, supplier terms, collaboration and licensing agreements — plus risk management for deals already in flight.
Legal support retainer
Your on-call legal person. A monthly retainer covering day-to-day legal questions, document checks and training, so you never sign anything blind.
Debt recovery
Unpaid invoices chased properly and professionally: letters before action, negotiation, and support through the small claims process where needed.
Business strategy
A fixed-period plan built around your goals — positioning, pricing, operations and growth — with clear milestones so you know it's working.
Virtual legal assistant
Flexible admin and legal-assistant support for founders who need documents managed, processes set up and the boring-but-critical things done right.
Bespoke packages
Mix and match any of the above into a package shaped around your business — one point of contact, one clear fee.
From first hello to done, in four steps.
Free consultation
A no-obligation 30-minute call. Tell us what you're building; we'll tell you honestly how we can help.
Fixed-fee proposal
A written proposal with scope, timeline and fee agreed up front. No hourly-rate surprises.
The work
We draft, review, negotiate or plan — with updates in plain English throughout.
Ongoing support
Most clients stay on — via retainer, or whenever the next contract or growth decision lands.
Our story.
Nineteenth Street began with over ten years' experience across regulation, litigation and business strategy — and a growing frustration at watching brilliant founders get lost in fine print, or priced out of proper support altogether. So we built the consultancy we wished existed: one that champions the people building something, instead of intimidating them. Today we're a team of legal and business minds supporting creatives, startups and SMEs across the UK — plain English, fixed fees, no surprises.
Your ambition, on better terms.
In their words.
When I was first starting out, having experienced people to bounce ideas off was invaluable. We've worked together on a number of successful projects. One of the most significant moments was when I decided to expand from private dining experiences and home deliveries into the wedding market. The team at Nineteenth Street helped me identify my ideal target audience, refine my marketing, make the right industry connections and position my brand effectively. Their insight gave me the confidence and direction I needed to take that next step, and it's made a real difference to my business.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nineteenth Street to anyone who's starting a business or looking to take an established business to the next level. Their knowledge, experience and genuine investment in their clients' success make them an invaluable partner.
Questions people actually ask.
How much does it cost?
Every piece of work is quoted as a fixed fee before we start, following your free consultation. Retainers are a set monthly amount. You'll never get an unexpected bill.
Can't I just use ChatGPT or a free template?
You can — and for some things that's a perfectly reasonable place to start. The difference is what happens next. AI produces a document; it doesn't know your business, it can't spot what you haven't thought to ask about, and it takes no responsibility if what it drafted doesn't hold up. Templates are written for somebody else's business, and the gaps only show themselves when something goes wrong — usually months later, when a client refuses to pay or an agreement gets challenged. We use good tools too, which is part of why we're quicker and more affordable than a traditional law firm. What you're paying for is someone with over ten years' experience checking it against your actual business, telling you what's missing, and still being here when you need them.
Are you a law firm?
No — Nineteenth Street is a trading name of Nineteenth Street Group Ltd, a legal and business consultancy. We provide legal support and consultancy services; where a matter requires a regulated solicitor or barrister — for example, court advocacy — we'll tell you straight away and can help you find one.
Do you only work with creatives?
Creatives, startups and small-to-medium businesses are our home turf, but the common thread is stage, not sector: if you're building something and need legal and strategic support without law-firm fees, we're built for you.
Where are you based?
We work with clients across the UK, mostly remotely, with calls booked straight into the calendar via the button above.
